Marketmarks: 24 Market-Town Encounters for Shady Bargains
A downloadable game
Every market has a mark. Some of them are for sale.
Marketmarks is a 9-page pocket supplement of 24 market-town encounters for weird fantasy, OSR, and narrative 5e tables. Stalls with inventory that remembers, coin that spends back, contracts that were valid yesterday and legal tomorrow.
Like the rest of the Marks series, the core rule holds: you can always walk past. Every encounter is an invitation, not a roadblock. The town keeps its ledger either way.
Inside:
- 24 original encounters in three sections - Stalls and Traders, Coin and Contracts, Goods of Doubtful Provenance
- A d8 roll table per section and a d24 quick table
- Read-aloud openers, the truth behind each mark, engage/decline consequences, scaling DCs, and thread hooks that tie encounters together
- System-neutral with 5th-edition-compatible numbers
Format: 9-page PDF in parchment-and-ink house style, illustrated with genuine 18th-19th century street-cry engravings from the Rijksmuseum (CC0 public domain) plus hand-coded vector ornaments. Part of the Varisol Press line (Waymarks, Harbormarks).
AI disclosure: the text is AI-assisted with human editorial control. The antique plates are public-domain period prints; the line ornaments are hand-coded vector geometry. No AI-generated art. All content original; SRD 5.1 material used under CC-BY-4.0 (attribution inside the book).
